I wonder if this really works. For $0.99, it may be worth a try.
4/30/12 update: This actually seems to work. Here is my sleep cycle from Thursday:
Apparently I woke up twice in the middle of the night, which I don't remember, but I cycled in and out of deep sleep right on schedule.
Compare that with last night's sleep cycle:
I slept terribly last night. It was one of those nights where you feel like you're lying half awake for hours at a time, and I remember irritably requesting that S "stop blowing air on my face" at least twice (maybe around 3 AM and 4 AM?).
Anyway, I'm pretty impressed that this 99-cent app was so clearly able to log the difference between a good night's sleep and a bad night's sleep.
Stop blowing air on your face! Ugh. That's why we sleep facing away from each other. (And if he turns toward me I make a barrier with the sheet. He has the worst morning breath.)
ReplyDeleteThe point of this is to wake you up at a time that's compatible with your sleep cycle, right? Does that work?
Hmm, maybe I'll try the sheet barrier next time. S does this thing sometimes where he takes a deep, snorey breath in and then purses his lips and literally BLOWS a direct stream of air out. It always wakes me up when it lands anywhere on my head/face. Sometimes the smell alone wakes me up.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I haven't had much opportunity to test the alarm yet. Usually the sounds of S's morning routine wake me before the alarm goes off on weekdays, and I don't set an alarm on weekends. But since S will be gone for the next week and a half, I'll have a chance to play with the alarm feature. MORE TO COME.
