Kids' voices change all the time, because their bodies are changing. And you can usually detect signs of age in the voices of the elderly. What about in between? I wonder if there are any subtle differences that happen as we age, that if we knew what to look for, we could tell a 30-year old's voice from a 60-year old's voice.
I feel like I've read somewhere that singers' voices enter different phases depending on their age. Like, the voice of a singer in his/her 20's will have a significantly different timbre than the voice of the same singer in his/her 40's. But maybe a lot of that has to do with vocal muscle tone and isn't as relevant to people's everyday speaking voices.
