"I'm not sure if it's the first wedding you have been to, but for your next wedding … people give envelopes. I lost out on $200 covering you and your dates plate . … and got fluffy whip and sour patch kids in return. Just a heads-up for the future."
And the text exchange deteriorated from there. Arguably the most insulting part was where she accused her guest of eating the "beautiful venue."
I'm sort of surprised that all the vitriol is directed at the bride when the guest's behavior was just as bad. Not the initial gift-giving (although I do think the gift is more suited for a casual birthday party than for a wedding) but the exchange after that when the guest immediately fired back by comparing one of the brides to a cow chewing hay.
ReplyDeleteNeither of them comes out looking great. The guest definitely didn't take the high road. But I think harsh words spoken in response to an insult are easier for people to overlook than the bride's overall sense of entitlement.
