Banana Shrub

I have one of these in bloom in my office.  It's called Michelia Figo, or "Banana Shrub."  In the many months I've had it, it has only bloomed twice, but each time it has FILLED my office with the sweetest, fruitiest smell -- kind of like Juicy Fruit gum.  Banana haters may not love it, though.

Frenched green beans

Did you know that green beans have an "unpleasant string" that you are supposed to remove with a vegetable peeler before cooking?

Energy

Yesterday I stayed in bed pretty much all day.  Today I felt like tackling tons of stuff on my to-do list and got more done than I usually would on both weekend days.  Could that be a recipe for productivity -- give yourself permission to rest for a whole day, then work twice as hard the next day?  (I do realize this is not feasible in real life.)

Pac-Man Party

K's birthday party is in less than a month! I need to get invitations out this week. I see some arts and crafts in our near future, involving yellow construction paper.

Magic Trick

Sick in bed today.  Mr. Trousers set out to entertain me by demonstrating this "Japanese magic trick" for folding shirts.  It really works!  Folding shirts has never been so fun.

Shopping

I. Hate. Shopping.

Outlet mall shopping, no less. This mall houses a gym. I ask you, what sick person would want to combine gyms and outlet shopping?

Determination

Under the weather today.  No deep thoughts.  But I have watched this video about ten times in a row.
